Acryclic 12" x  12". Description: a rainbow of small circles makes a heart in the centre of the image. A textured purple heart can be seen moving around the heart cage. The cage is in various stages and shapes. The heart is shown waking up or showing an awareness of some introspection or internal process.
 
The piece is accompanied by the following ekphrasis poem created by Stefani to describe the feelings associated with the process of change and by the painting she created.
 
My Beat-Box Heart
 
Around the labyrinth of my heart
The perimeter was bound for years
Suddenly something started to shift
A crisis tore the fabric apart
 
In its wake, my heart wakes and finds
Pieces of itself ditched in space
Is it safe to put myself out there?
The boggy world of frigid air
 
A change is happening my little heart
Beaming with light becoming, open me
Tease me, shift me, set my soul alight
Caress my slender shiny gates apart
 
My heart she yearns, she begs for more
There is so much more to life she settled for
A world of less commute time and
So much more if she could only find the door.
