Journeys. Acrylic on canvas 12" x 12". Description: This piece has a vibrant and thriving yellow background symbolizing rebirth and renewal. There is a string which shows the ups and downs of change and explores the tenacity needed to travel through the journey of life. There are also battery powered fairy lights and one battery powered tea light to support the theme of light as hope and the invitation to choose hope as a way through a periless journey.

Persephone
To understand Persephone
is to understand journeys
Sometimes forced upon us
by someone else’s hand
 
Admired for her tenacity to travel
Wanderlust of touring, trekking in life 
A journey into her dark soul of the night 
and again into the thriving world of daylight
 
Up, down, around, up down around
a twisty roller coaster when change comes to town
turbulant and rude and quite sticky too
and then back up to the top to fall again
 
If we could only remember to turn on the light
One action, one move, one flick of delight
The nightmares depart, shadows less fright
Joyfully dance on the pages of life.
