The Light
A baby in the womb is blind to light
Can only feel a hint of love through
Muscle, fat, and umbilical tube
For nine months, has no light to view
Only sounds, warmth, and servitude
And suddenly a light! Exclamations,
Squishy things, and a voice so soothing
Its ring solidified the only thing that is true
The light is love and love is for me and you
The light is trust, a bringer, a way home for us.
